"Not Your Average Fairy Tale" (a fairly Lexi post)

Just to let our readers know, I know I've been inconsistent in my posts. Totally not cool. I vow to y'all that I'll write the posts earlier so they're posted on time, every other day, no matter what.

Here's my debut as a brand new poster!

So which book is tonight's? Not Your Average Fairy Tale by Chantele Sedgwick.

Summary: "Ash Summerland has it all-good looks, popularity, and the best grades at The Academy of Magical Beings. Ready to complete his last assignment in order to graduate, Ash is confident he will get the apprenticeship he wants. but when he opens the letter from the Council, he is shocked to discover he has been assigned to apprentice Lady Shenelle, Keeper of Happy Endings- aka the head fairy godmother. Ash is forced to grant three wishes to a troubled human girl named Kendall, and ultimately give her a "happy ever after." But Kendall turns out to be more than he bargained for. Still grieving over her father's death, she doesn't want anything to do with Ash. And worst of all, she doesn't believe in happy endings." (Love to my friends over at Goodreads, who wrote that!)

When I found out about Kendall's father, I knew this was going to be a little campy. But then the whole thing was drawn out, without enough action and issues, and was super predictable. I had so much hope for the storyline, but honestly, y'all, it read like the way I used to write in my teens. There's nothing wrong with that, but it needs to be a bit more polished and mature to be a good book. I think that the author can do better, once they've written more. But this book just wasn't developed enough in any way, shape, or form.

In Conclusion: Skip it.

Rating:

1/5 pairs of wings

XOXO!
