Hello fellow readers!!!!
Today I decided that I would review a very old book, that I feel in love with and I hope you do to. "Susannah" by Candice F. Ransom, is a wonderfully written historical romance. It falls in the time of the civil war and it kind of brings you into a world where you suffer with the characters and can see how the war affected them.
Here is the summary taken straight from Goodreads.....
"The South that raised her was at war, while Susannah's own battle raged in her heart....
Susannah had lived her sixteen years as a proper Virginia girl - obedient, dreaming of marriage, leaving the decisions to the men. But when her brother and her fiance are called on to defend the South, Susannah takes the first daring steps of rebellion against the old rules. She must fight for her own life, for her family, and for the secret love born in the flames of war."
In a time where war ranges around you, Susannah, just wants her family safe and the two guys she loves to come home safe. She rebels and helps one of their slaves escapes and will do anything to keep her family safe. When circumstances start to unfold, she finds herself trying to fight her attraction to the enemy and trying to do what is right for her family. She learns to grow up in a time of war and looses her heart along with it.
This is a fascinating read from the first page that will have you fighting to put it down. You will hope she ends up with one guy or another and the author lets you be sucked into her struggle of right from wrong. This is such an old classic and I honestly can't tell you what made me read it, but oh it was such a wonderful read that I will read again and again. I have read other books in this series and love them just as much.
If you love Romance and History then this book is for you. You can find it on Amazon for really cheap along with some of the other books in the series. I will be reviewing another book in this series that I loved on Wednesday.
See you then!!!!
