"Legend" (A Thrilling Ashley Review)

Happy Friday!!!!!!!

To wrap up this hopefully, wonderful week, I bring you the first of so far amazing series. I haven't read the next two books in the series, but if they are anything like the first one, I bet they are just as action packed and amazing. "Legend" by Marie Lu, is another book that in a way is like "The Hunger Games" mixed with "Divergent", but again don't let that fool you because it is unlike any other book.

Here is the amazing summary taken straight from Goodreads....

"What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbours. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.

From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.

Full of nonstop action, suspense, and romance, this novel is sure to move readers as much as it thrills."

June, is considered a prodigy, but all she wants to do is patrol with her brother and serve her Republic. When her brother dies, she makes it her mission to hunt down Day, who killed her brother, and make him pay for taking away the only family she had. Day, who is kind of a modern day robin hood, just wants to take care of his family, which for reasons that will be revealed he can't see anymore. When June meets Day, she is blinded by her hate, but as new information comes into light, she notices that her only allie might be Day. Will June learn the truth of her brother's death or is her heart already poisoned against the truth?

This book will have your heart pounding and have you guessing chapter after chapter. I will admit when Metias died I did cry, because you get sucked into the characters lives. What I really loved about this book is each chapter is either from June's point of view or from Day's, that way you get both backgrounds and can make your own judgements.

Until Next Time!!!!

Rating: 5/5 fan drawings of June and Day.....
