"Entwined" (A Fairytale review by Ashley)

Good Morning!!!!

Today is of all things my birthday, but most important my Grandmother is having surgery on her heart, so prayers would be appreciated. I wanted to do a fairy tale retelling for my birthday and I bet yall are going to like this one. "Entwined" by Heather Dixon, is a retelling of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses", and it is a wonderful one. You don't have to be familiar with "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" to understand this book, it is so well written that you can learn everything you need to know about the original story.

The summary of this retelling is as follows......

"Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her... beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing... it's taken away. All of it.

The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.

Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.

But there is a cost.

The Keeper likes to keep things.

Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late."

Azalea, is a strong heroine, when tragedy strikes she finds herself looking after her younger sisters. To escape the lonely world they know, they sneak down to a magical place and dance until the sun comes up. Than something happens that threatens to expose their secret, but the sisters will stop at nothing to keep it safe. There are some dashing young men and of course a happy ending, but I won't tell you anymore of what may happen, because I don't want to give anything away. This is such an amazing and enchanted read, that you will want to read it again and again.

Till Next Time,

Rating: 5/5 paintings of twelve dancing princesses......
