"The Fire King" (A Happy Ashley Review)

Hey guys!!!!

Today I am going to review a very wonderful book called "The Fire King" by Amber Jaeger. This is a retelling of Snow White, which had me falling in love with this retelling. I have reviewed "The Fire King" comes after "The Cold King" and I can't wait to see what Amber has up her sleeves next. I would recommend reading "The Cold King" first, if you already haven't, because the characters we all loved in "The Cold King" make an appearance in "The Fire King".

Here is the summary to this amazing book.....
"Revenge can be its own poison…
Katiyana Nix was a princess but only wanted what every other little girl hada mother to love and teach her and a father to care for her. Instead, she grew up lonely in the shadow of her mother’s death while her father was absent in his grief.
When she finally thought she’d found hope for herself and her father, it was in the form of her beautiful new stepmother. But Sula committed the most evil of betrayals, leaving Katiyana more lost than she had ever been. Alone and scared, she fled to the forest to live amongst the trees with other lost souls searching for their own safety.
When she crosses paths with the fiery King Lian, a man whose thirst for revenge against the evil queen has no end, her time of quiet peace is ended. His anger untamed, he aims to use the lost princess as a weapon to achieve his dark goals.
Katiyana must battle her own demons, as well as his, while she tries to save him from himself and her kingdom from the clutches of her stepmother.
Can she succeed in ridding the world of the evil queen or will Lian’s temper cause them all to burn?"

All Katiyana wants is a mother and a father. She lost her mother when she was very young and she has to suffer her father's absence, because the lose of her mother was too much for him to bare. She is excited for her father to remarry, so that she can finally have someone to teach her how to be a Princess and to love her. Little does she know the woman that marries her father is an evil woman, who is power hungry. Circumstances force Katiyana to flee the forest and be taken in by people who teach her to survive. But, can she use her survival skills to win the battle against Lian, The Fire King or will this be one battle she will lose?

Amber gives a fresh and different telling of Snow White. It is such a good book that you should read it. Snow White isn't just the stuck up girl Disney made her be, but this Snow can kick butt and take names. You see a strong female heroine who doesn't need a man to rescue her, because she is strong enough to rescue herself.

Also, on Friday I will post an interview with the amazing author of this series, Amber Jaeger, so come read how she came up with these amazing stories and just maybe she will tell us what she is working on next.

Rating: 5/5 Snow White and her Prince......
