Today I am going to review an interesting book from the amazing author Meg Cabot. I know what your thinking, Meg Cabot did all of the Princess Diaries Books, but this is not about a girl discovering she is a Princess, but about a secret society that kills vampires and a girl who can tell how a person will die when she touches them. "Insatiable" is the first of two books in this amazing series and I will say the second book is just as good as the first.
The summary of this wonderful book was taken from Goodreads....
"Sick of vampires? So is Meena Harper.
But her boss is making her write about them anyway, even though Meena doesn’t believe in them.
Not that Meena isn’t familiar with the supernatural. See, Meena Harper knows how you’re going to die (not that you’re going to believe her; no one ever does).
But not even Meena’s precognition can prepare her for what happens when she meets—then makes the mistake of falling in love with—Lucien Antonescu, a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side . . . a dark side a lot of people, like an ancient society of vampire-hunters, would prefer to see him dead for.
The problem is, he already is dead. Maybe that’s why he’s the first guy Meena’s ever met that she could see herself having a future with. See, while Meena’s always been able to see everyone else’s future, she’s never been able look into her own.
And while Lucien seems like everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, he might turn out to be more like a nightmare.
Now might be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future . . .
If she even has one."
This is not your Twilight Vampires, but more like Dracula's son, Lucien, who is a lover and a fighter. Meena is tired of vampire's but since she works for a Vampire soap opera, she has to write scenes about a woman falling in love with a vampire. Little does she know that a dinner party thrown by her neighbour's would bring her face to face with the Prince of the vampire's and possibly make her fall in love with him. This is a very interesting story that is told by three very different characters, but they tell the same story, without it confusing the reader. This is such an amazing series that I believe everyone should read it. It will have you laughing and saying WTF, this is worth the money and time to read it. Especially if you loved Dracula, because there are a lot of interesting ties with Dracula, but this book is so different in its own way.
Rating: 5/5 Dracula's and Mina's......
