"Dracula, My Love" (An Ashley Review)

Hello out there in reader land!!!!

Today I bring you a riveting review of Syrie James's "Dracula, My Love". In this book you learn about Dracula from Mina Harker's point of view. All the movies portray Dracula as this evil, blood sucking vampire, who has no feelings what so ever, but when you read Mina's journals, you see a side of him you have never seen before. Plus, this cover is absolutely beautiful.

The summary pulled from the back cover goes something like this.....
" Who is this magnetic, fascination man? And how could one woman fall so completely under his spell? Mina Harker is torn between two men. Struggling to hang on to the deep, pure love she's found within her marriage to her husband, Jonathan, she is inexorably drawn into a secret, passionate affair with a charismatic but dangerous lover. This haunted and haunting creature has awakened feelings and desires within her that she has never before known, which remake her as a woman. Although everyone she knows fears him and is pledged to destroy him, Mina sees a side to him that the others cannot: a tender, romantic side; a man who's taken full advantage of his gift of immortality to expand his mind and talents; a man who is deeply in love, and who may not be evil after all. Yet to surrender is surely madness, for to be with him could end her life. It may cost Mina all she holds dear, but to make her choice she must learn everything she can about the remarkable origins and sensuous powers of this man, this exquisite monster, this...Dracula!"

This re creation of the Dracula story we all have come to know is so well written, it will have you falling for Dracula as well. Mina has everything a girl should want to have and she has Jonathan, who will let her work with him and help him when he needs to type something, which is really rare for this time era. When Mina is pulled into the world of Dracula she finds herself being drawn to this creature that she is supposed to hate. She starts wishing that nothing will happen to him and even starts letting him sneak into her bedroom window and taking a bite out of her. She finds this passion that she can't seem to get from Jonathan and all of a sudden she feels like this void as been filled within her. Will she stay with the husband that she loves or will she give it all up to live forever with this man that makes her feel alive?

Give this book a try and you won't be disappointed.

Until next time!!!!!!
